Crafting with care
Our process
Our production process is designed with sustainability at its core. Every step is thoughtfully executed to minimize environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of quality. From the initial design to the final product, every step of our process is thoughtfully considered to reduce our environmental footprint and uphold ethical standards.
Design
At the design stage, the foundation for sustainability is laid. Here, we thoughtfully consider the timeless design, the yarns and fabrics we will use and the colors we choose. The final design is captured in a technical drawing, which serves as the blueprint for our production.
Yarn
Choosing the yarn is a key step in our process. We work closely with our producer, who has years and years of experience and strong connections in the industry. We only use certified materials like Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and GOTS-certified organic cotton to ensure our fabrics are sustainable and safe.
Knitting
Currently, we focus solely on knitwear, which is one of the most sustainable methods of clothing production. This technique minimizes fabric waste compared to cutting woven fabrics. Our knitwear is produced based on precise programming.
Linking
Linking is a delicate craft that sets our garments apart. While many companies use overlocking, we choose to link our seams, which creates a seamless finish and enhances the garment's durability. This technique not only looks great but also ensures a more comfortable fit.
Washing & Steaming
After the linking process, the garments undergo an initial wash to soften the wool, as the raw fibers can be quite rough. This is followed by steaming, which allows us to check the dimensions and inspect for any imperfections, ensuring that every piece meets our quality standards.
Labels
Next, we attach our labels carefully by hand. We choose to fasten them loosely to avoid damaging the garment, as labels can sometimes create holes. Our cotton labels are made in Italy by L'Etichetta. We’ve decided to put the size on the minimalistic care label instead of on the neck label, as we believe a label shouldn’t define who you are. Aside from the neck label, the minimalistic care label, and the hangtag, we do not include any additional labels, as they are not mandatory and can contribute to environmental waste.
Final check
Finally, a thorough check is conducted by our producer before the garments are packaged in our biodegradable plastic bags also produced by L'Etichetta. This ensures that each piece arrives safely from the producer to our warehouse, minimizing our environmental impact throughout the process.
Packing your order
For our packaging, we use FSC-certified boxes made by PACKcenter in Almelo (NL). This ensures that our materials come from responsibly managed forests, contributing to environmental sustainability. Each order is packed with care and attention to detail, reflecting our commitment to providing a thoughtful experience as we send your garments on their way to you.
